Biloxi

The proposed Blind Tiger seafood restaurant and lounge on the beach at Harrah’s Gulf Coast could get one step closer to construction Tuesday when the City Council has a first look at the project.

The first reading of an ordinance to amend the casino’s master plan to allow the restaurant will come during the council meeting at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The project has the recommendation of the Biloxi Planning Commission.

The council members will get a first look at the plans for a 3,240 square-foot-restaurant with extensive decks overlooking the water. The restaurant will include nearly 50,000 square feet of land, parking and greenspace.

According to the plans, customers will be able to park at the restaurant on what is The Great Lawn or use the parking garage at Harrah’s and reach the restaurant by the western crosswalk over U.S. 90.

Also on the agenda for the meeting is a proposal for affordable housing in East Biloxi, which will be presented by city attorney Gerald Blessey.

Not on the agenda is Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich’s nomination of Councilman Paul Tisdale to be appointed chief administrative officer.
