Sneak peak inside the new Isle of Capri Casino

BETTENDORF, Iowa – For the second time in two weeks, a new casino is opening in the Quad Cities.

Just 223 feet is how far people will have to go to check out the new Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel in Bettendorf.

“Putting it in the heart of the property between the two hotels with the restaurants right next door so convenient,” said Nancy Ballenger, Vice President and General Manager at the Isle.

While people can expect to see some of their old favorite games there will be more to choose from. There are 1,000 slot machines and 19 gaming tables.

“Now we`re just doing final testing and final hook ups and getting everything ready,” said Ballenger.

Not to mention three restaurants and a bar.

Since smoking is allowed in Iowa casinos a new system will bring fresh air in three times, every hour, something Ballenger says the riverboat couldn’t do, “The riverboats were never built for that. The industry really didn`t know what we were kind of getting into at that point and so it kind of evolved is really what you`re going to see when you come into the facility now.”

The move from riverboat to casino comes with a change in time.

“The riverboat experience has been great. It`s been a wonderful era, but you go up and down stairs you go up and down elevators and customers really want to be in an open space right now,” said Ballenger.

The grand opening is Friday, June 24th at 10 am.

No plans have been made on what to do with the riverboat.
